As the city continues to work hard to clear the significant amount of snow we received Sunday and Monday, we want to thank you for your patience with our transportation services this week, especially with the additional challenge of bitterly cold temperatures.
Like most vehicle traffic this week, school buses are running behind schedule at times as our drivers take care to navigate narrow streets made narrower still by the heavy snowfall. It is a challenge operating a large vehicle on city streets under ideal circumstances, and the conditions this week following the storm are anything but that.
We know this can cause inconveniences for your families and we apologize for the disruptions.
We are grateful to the city for all of its efforts around the clock since the storm, and to all of our students and families for hanging in there with us while our transportation partners take some extra time to travel to and from school with care.
We anticipate it will be slow-going in some cases for the rest of the week, and the forecast also calls for continued frigid temperatures into the weekend. Please plan for additional time in your travels, and be prepared for the elements.
If you have any questions about your child’s bus service, you can call our Transportation Department at (518) 475-6170.
Be safe.
