Five fantastic Falcons—Javanni Garland-Santana, Jasiah Anderson, Noah Bizer, Nasief Smith and Nyloni Smith (pictured L-R)—are preparing to compete at the national level for indoor track and field!
Each of these talented student-athletes earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage after hitting a qualifying time earlier in the indoor track and field season. We are proud of the grit and determination that has granted them the opportunity to compete against top high school athletes from across the country.
Bizer earned a spot competing in the 800 meter run with a season best of 1:58. He will compete at the New Balance Nationals in Boston on March 14. He has been on the varsity indoor track and field team for four years and this is his second time competing at the New Balance Nationals.
Anderson, Garland-Santana and Nyloni Smith are all first-year varsity athletes on the indoor track and field team, and we can't wait to see them compete in the freshman 60 meter dash at the Nike Nationals at the Armory in New York City on March 12. Their best times this season are 7.57, 7.36 and 8.08 respectively.
Nasief Smith has had an exciting four-year career on the Albany High varsity indoor track and field team. He hit the emerging elite standard for long jump with a season best of 22 feet 4.5 inches. We can't wait to see him soar at the Nike Nationals on March 13.
