Autism Spectrum Fair draws record crowd

Wow – what a night!

Montessori Magnet School’s (MMS) seventh annual Autism Spectrum Fair was an incredible success, thanks to City School District of Albany faculty/staff, valuable community partners and – of course – the families who attended.

The 2026 theme for the event was acceptance and it highlights MMS' commitment to all students. The building was proud to organize and host once again because the fair links families to valuable services while also connecting local adults and children with each other for fun, learning and support.

"This one-of-a-kind opportunity attracts visitors and community partners from all over the Capital District, and beyond," explained Montessori Magnet School Principal John Powell.

"The time and effort to put this evening together is great and the amount of people giving of themselves in support of families is touching."

Thank you to all who made this event possible - especially MMS’ long-time social worker Sue Hodom! Hodom, who is retiring after 20 years in the district, not only filled a need with this one-stop-shop for our families but has also grown the Autism Spectrum Fair into a beloved evening that students and their parents/guardians look forward to and benefit from in a meaningful way.
