The girls' flag football team played their opening game of the season against Colonie on Wednesday evening at The Nest. Our Falcons put forth a tremendous effort on the field, but ultimately succumbed to the Wolfpack, 34-18.
Janae Byrams delivered an all-around dominant performance with 56 receiving yards, 9 defensive stops and an electrifying 50-yard punt return touchdown.
On the offense, Narai Danzy led the charge with 257 passing yards. She also added 35 rushing yards and one touchdown. Akarri Gaddy contributed with seven receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown. Aasett Taylor made big plays downfield, finishing with four receptions for 89 receiving yards.
Janalee Campbell anchored the defensive front with an impressive four quarterback sacks and five defensive stops.
The cornerback trio of Nalina Charles, Celena Walcott and Jaya Stewart combined for a strong showing, totaling 17 defensive stops.
