Pine Hills pantry supports community thanks to student leaders

On Thursday, Pine Hills Elementary School unveiled its brand-new food pantry!

It resembles a Little Free Library, which are located throughout Albany, and will be established outside on school property and available for anyone in the community to access.

The project was spearheaded by the 2024-25 Student Light House Team using money raised though a school-wide coin challenge.

Anyone is welcome to stock the pantry with non-perishable items (pasta, canned foods, soups, mac-and-cheese) and, additionally, each month a different grade level will collect items to stock the pantry.
