The Albany High baseball team leveraged a big fifth inning to break away for an 11-4 victory over La Salle on Tuesday at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown!
The Falcons trailed early until Seamas LeBuis tied the score at 2-2 with a single in the fourth. The Falcons then exploded for five runs in the fifth, highlighted by Chase Solomon's two-run single, to take a 7-2 lead.
The Falcons totaled 12 hits on the day, led by Colin Paulsen's 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Alexander Dixon and Alexander Rizzo both had multiple hits, and Haywood Williams-Watson drove in three runs.
LeBuis started on the hill for the Falcons and had a stellar performance. He gave up four hits and three runs -- only one earned -- while striking out eight and walking three over five innings. Paul Grabowski came on in relief to help close out the victory.
Come cheer on our Falcons on Friday at Albany's Plumeri Sports Complex as they face off against Schenectady. First pitch is at 7 p.m. and we will honor our seniors prior to the start of the game.
