University at Albany opens up campus, and science exploration, to district students

A student presents her science project to representatives from the University at Albany

The semester may be over at the University at Albany but the campus is still buzzing with student learning – it just may not be the students you expect.

Junior Falcon scientists from North Albany Middle School, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School and William S. Hackett Middle School presented their experiments, and findings, to professors and graduate students at UAlbany’s Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurship (ETEC) Complex on Thursday.

After the science fair, the sixth and seventh-graders explored ETEC – which houses researchers, educators and entrepreneurs – and the tour was followed by a discussion with a UAlbany atmospheric science researcher and the awards ceremony.

Most will likely recognize one of the science fair judges – Damian participated in the project assessments and hopefully recruited some future Great Danes!
