We are excited to announce that we have selected Infinite Campus as our new student information system here in the City School District of Albany.
Infinite Campus will be replacing SchoolTool, and while we understand there is always a learning curve for new tools, we believe this will ultimately be a significant improvement for our families, students and staff.
Why the change?
Infinite Campus is a modern, innovative and user-friendly platform that gives families the ability to stay connected to their child’s education anytime, anywhere.
Infinite Campus will provide vastly improved access to attendance records, schedules, assignments, grades, assessment results, graduation progress and more.
We also intend to use the increased functionality of Infinite Campus to streamline many of our existing processes. For example, families will now be able to submit attendance excuses and requests directly through the Infinite Campus portal.
It is our hope that by gradually incorporating these procedures within one platform, it will over time reduce the number of apps and software families need to use.
What's next?
Infinite Campus will go fully live on July 1, and access to SchoolTool will continue through the summer to ensure a smooth transition.
Around mid-July, we will begin sharing details with families on how to access and use Infinite Campus portal accounts. If you currently have a SchoolTool parent portal account, you will automatically receive your new login credentials to Infinite Campus.
If you do not currently have a SchoolTool parent portal account, you will receive instructions on how to create an Infinite Campus account. Either way, we strongly encourage all parents and guardians to establish an account to take full advantage of the information and resources available.
We will also hold an informational session on Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. where families can learn more and ask questions. This session will be held at Albany High School and is open to all district families.
