The Board of Education for 2026-27 with Superintendent Hochreiter

The City School District of Albany Board of Education made the results of May’s election official Thursday night, swearing in Tabetha Wilson and new member Serena White-Lake to begin four-year terms.

The board also elected Wilson, an Albany High School graduate, to serve as its new president for 2026-27; she served as vice president for the past two years. White-Lake fills the seat vacated by Ellen Krejci, who chose not to run for re-election this year after serving on the board for nearly 11 years.

The board also elected Sridar Chittur, Ph.D., to serve as vice president for the coming year; he served as president for the previous two years. Hassan Elminyawi was elected to serve as the board’s secretary.
