Albany High construction update

Interior of the new academic building, looking out from windows into the field

Take a look inside Albany High School’s new academic building! With the majority of the behind-the-scenes infrastructure now complete, the interior finishing of the building is well underway.

The new three-story, 120,000-square-foot structure is part of Phase I of the rebuild, and is expected to be completed in January.

Taking shape alongside is the foundation of the second new academic building. This additional new two-story, 39,000-square-foot classroom building, extending east from the auditorium toward the athletic field, will be the home for art and music classrooms. It is part of Phase II of the rebuild – which began in June – and is scheduled to open in late fall 2020.

The rebuilding of Albany High will add more than 250,000 square feet of new facilities and completely renovate the existing 378,000-square-foot complex. Construction and renovations will take place in four phases.
