Abrookin bakers prep for City Hall celebration

Culinary student rolls out dough for cookies

The kitchen at Albany High’s Abrookin Career and Technical Center was hopping Wednesday, as culinary students and Chef Lisa Valentine raced to prepare cookies that will be served Thursday at the annual tree-lighting festivities at City Hall.

When the work is done, Valentine and her students will have made 600 cookies altogether.

Several students and the chef also will distribute the yummy treats at the event, which will be held from 5-7 p.m.

Stop by City Hall to get in the holiday spirit and sample some great student-made holiday fare! The celebration is free and open to the public.
