Blood drive Oct. 8

Blood drive Oct. 8

Roll up your sleeve and help save a life!

Albany High School will hold the first of three blood-donation drives this school year on Thursday between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. in the library.

For health and safety reasons related to COVID-19, all prospective donors 17 years of age and older must make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or register online and use the sponsor code AlbanyHS.

The exception is students who are 16 and want to donate; those students need to call the library at (518) 475-6320 for more information.

Donors must enter the main office at Tower 2 where they will receive a temperature check, have their appointment verified and fill out a COVID screener before going to the library. All donors must wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Besides saving lives, giving blood will help our student blood-drive coordinator, senior Maggie Papa. Each donation counts towards scholarship money from the Red Cross.
