The PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test originally scheduled for Jan. 26 at Albany High School has been cancelled for health and safety reasons.

In cancelling the exam, the City School District of Albany followed the lead of the New York State Education Department, which cancelled all January Regents exams due to COVID-19 concerns.

The College Board, which oversees the National Merit Scholarship program, will allow students to use SAT scores through June 2021 to qualify for National Merit Scholarships. You must apply for "alternate entry" into the scholarship program and can find out more here

Get a list of when and where SAT exams will be offered. You may be eligible to take the SAT for free; reach out to your guidance counselor to learn if you qualify for a fee waiver.
