Career and tech honor society inductions

Student lights a candle while adviser looks on

Fifty-five career and technical education (CTE) superstars from Albany High School were inducted on Wednesday into National Technical Honor Society.

National Technical Honor Society is a nationwide non-profit that honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides up $300,000 in scholarships annually and strives to help connect education and industry to build a highly skilled workforce.

Students qualify for membership if they have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, focus on a CTE pathway or major, have one or more faculty recommendations and participate in work-based learning, job shadowing or internship opportunities.

The following CTE pathways are represented in this year’s group of inductees: automotive, construction, culinary arts, health science and pre-engineering.
