The City School District of Albany is excited to start the 2021-22 school year with orientation days for students on Thursday, Sept. 2 and Friday, Sept. 3.

Elementary orientation days

  • Thursday, Sept. 2 -- Full-day orientation for students in grades 1-2 only (no school for students in grades 3-5)
  • Friday, Sept. 3 -- Full-day orientation for students in grades 3-5 only (no school for students in grades 1-2)
  • PK/K -- Orientation days for students in prekindergarten and kindergarten have been set by individual schools.

Middle school orientation days 

  • Thursday, Sept. 2
    • Full-day orientation for students with last names beginning A-L only (no school for students M-Z)
  • Friday, Sept. 3 -- Full-day orientation for students with last names beginning M-Z only (no school for students A-L)

Albany High School orientation days

  • Thursday, Sept. 2 -- Grade 9 students only (no school for students in grades 10-12)
    • Morning -- Last names A-L only, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
    • Afternoon -- Last names M-Z only, 12:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 3 -- Grades 10-12 students only (no school for students in grade 9)
    • Morning -- Last names A-L only, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
    • Afternoon -- Last names M-Z only, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Albany International Center/Dual Language Program orientation days

  • Thursday, Sept. 2
    • Grades 1-2 (no school for students in grades 3-5), 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
    • Grades 6-8 (no school for students in grades 9-12), 8:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 3
    • Grades 3-5 (no school for students in grades 1-2), 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
    • Grades 9-12 (no school for students in grades 6-8), 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Tony Clement Center for Education orientation days

  • Thursday, Sept. 2 -- Choices Program students only (no school for High School Program students), 1:30-3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 3 -- High School Program students only (no school for Choices Program students), 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Additional back-to-school dates

  • Monday, Sept. 6 -- Labor Day (all schools and district offices closed)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 7 -- No school for students (professional development day for faculty and staff)
  • Wednesday, Sept. 8 -- First full day of school for all students PK-12
