Thank you seniors!

The seniors on the girls' tennis team are recognized prior to a practice at Albany High School.

Despite the cancellation of a planned match vs. Troy, the girls’ tennis team celebrated its five seniors as planned and with lots of fanfare on Friday afternoon.

Younger players decorated the courts, gave heart-felt speeches and baked goodies in recognition of the hard work by Portia Gaa, Hannah Goldstein, Sadaf Ahamdi, Kieran Sleasman and Serenity Charles put in during their years playing for the Falcons.

Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams assisted Coach Anthony Omoragbon with the traditional flower presentation and the graduating student athletes were also gifted team hoodies.

After photos with loved ones, the girls practiced in advance of their Saturday match against Colonie. It was a tough 5-4 loss but also a day of which the team can be proud. Gaa and Erin Connell earned their first win of the season as doubles players. Ahmadi got her third win of the season while Goldstein dominated to get her second win of the season. Jessica Korbieh and Isabella Waldman won at first doubles.
