Falcon musicians play tech show

Keyboard player and bass player perform onstage

Albany High School musicians are getting gigs all over the place!

On Friday morning, hundreds of guests attending an annual technology conference at the Albany Capital Center were treated to the sweet sounds of a Falcon string quartet as they registered and a smoking onstage performance by the Jazzmanian Devils that opened the show.

The strings students performed under the direction of teacher Anthony Berman, and the Jazzmanian Devils, the advanced jazz band, performed under the direction of John Halvorsen. Percussionist (and Superintendent) Joseph Hochreiter hopped onstage to sit in on one song with the jazz band.

The conference was sponsored by Capital Region BOCES and Northeastern Regional Information Center (NERIC). The event is for students, educators and tech partners, highlighting innovations in education technology and helping schools and school districts use them to enhance instruction and streamline operations.

Take a look at a Facebook photo album from the performances. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
