Weekend race earns Falcons top rankings in Section 2

Members of Albany High School's winter track team are being recognized for their outstanding performance at the Utica Invitational this past weekend. Several student-athletes earned state qualifying times and personal bests.

Notably, Jahcere Laboy (55m) and Samir Gardner (long jump) are currently ranked #1 in Section 2. Malachi Young (55m hurdles) and the relay team of Laboy, Gardner, Young and Mamadou Barrie (4x400m) are ranked #2 in Section 2.

Laboy and Young's times on Saturday qualified the sprinters for the prestigious New Balance Indoor Nationals in Boston and Nike Indoor Nationals in New York City, both in March.

The Falcons' next competition is a league meet this Saturday at Union College.
