Five Albany High School student-athletes competed in the prestigious Nike Indoor Nationals track meet this past weekend in New York City.
The event - for elite athletes from across the country - is promoted as the "premiere showcase for the best of high school track and field" and is broken into two divisions - Emerging Elite and Championship, the latter being the most competitive.
Congratulations to:
- Long jump - Samir Gardner - 8th place in the Emerging Elite Division
- 4x200 relay - Jahcere Laboy, Elijah Temple, Daaron Harrell, Malachi Young - 16th place in the Emerging Elite Division
- 60m hurdles - Young - 42nd place in the Championship Division
Patrick Ponzo attended as an alternate.
