Relaying great news for boys' outdoor track and field

Boys' outdoor track team posing with medals at Cohoes Relays

Our varsity boys' outdoor track and field team truly wowed us at recent competitions by smashing records in various relay events!

At the Penn Relays 2025 last Thursday, the boys’ 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Nasief Smith, Daaron Harrell, Samir Gardner and Rohan Edwards-Grant, made history by shattering the official school record of 42.96 seconds set in 2010. They achieved a remarkable time of 42.85 seconds, coming in just 0.7 seconds shy of the Section 2 record! This outstanding performance has earned them a spot in the New York State Top 10—a truly impressive achievement.

The excitement continued at the Cohoes Relays on Saturday, where every Falcon athlete who competed secured a medal!

Despite the soggy conditions, Smith, Harrell, Gardner and Edwards-Grant set a new meet record with a time of 2:02.44 in the Swedish relay (100m-200m-300m-400m). These four Falcons also captivated the crowd with a first-place finish in the 4x100m relay. Adam Elia, Harryson Hoyte, Noah Bizer and Smith also brought home a first place finish in the sprint medley relay!

At Tuesday's meet in Schenectady, Smith, Harrell, Gardner and Edwards-Grant smashed their own 4x100m relay record yet again, coming in at 42.57! This new time positions them as strong contenders for a first place finish in the state championship in the 4x100m relay later this season.

Let's go Falcons!
