On Wednesday evening, our boys' outdoor track and field team competed against Saratoga Springs and Shaker High School at the Albany High School Stadium.
Before the meet, Coach Elliott Croskey and our Athletics Department held a special ceremony to honor our fifteen seniors: Christian Edwards, Adam Elia, Javion "Javi" Gaddy, Samir Gardner, Daaron Harrell, Terron Hylton, Christian Mack, Ewan MacNaughton, Kal-el McCargo-Miller, David Pollydore, Philip Shopsis-Kent, Elijah "Eli" Smith, Troy Treece, Faybian Ugbaja and Brandyn Werts. Each student received a blue rose and posed for photos with their family and loved ones. We are immensely proud of these seniors for their commitment, tenacity, and enthusiasm!
The evening was particularly memorable for our 4x100m relay team—Nasief Smith, Daaron Harrell, Samir Gardner and Rohan Edwards-Grant—as they broke their own school record, finishing with an impressive time of 42.48! This remarkable achievement not only qualifies them for the New York State Championship but also places them second in the state for this event!
Our 4x400m relay team—Adam Elia, Gardner, Edwards-Grant, and Harrell—also delivered an outstanding performance, clocking in at 3:19.84, which secures them an automatic spot at the state competition!
