Summer school is in full swing, and it's exciting to witness students acquiring knowledge and skills across various disciplines, including science, art, mathematics, civics, history, health, language arts, physical education, multicultural studies, and more!
This summer, we have 907 students enrolled in over 20 different courses. Whether they are recovering credit or advancing through enrichment classes, we are proud of our students' efforts and thankful for our teachers and administrators who are fostering a positive learning environment during these summer months.
Our summer school students have also paved the way as our first-time users of the Yondr pouch, a locking, magnetic pouch which secures cellphones and other personal devices during the school day to create a focused and distraction-free learning environment.
This initiative is in preparation for our districtwide bell-to-bell phone/device-free policy that will go into full effect during the 2025-26 school year in alignment with Gov. Kathy Hochul's directive that all New York schools must have smart-phone free environments.
Keep up the fantastic work, Falcons!
