We are excited to welcome all students in grades 9-12 for the first day of school for all grades at Albany High on Friday, Sept. 5!
We have compiled some helpful details below to help our students start the new year off well.
New cell phone procedures
Students will be given a Yondr pouch to store their personal devices at the start of the school day. Students will lock the pouch at the beginning of the school day and unlock it and return it at the end of the school day.
During school, students can either put the pouch in their lockers or carry it with them, but personal phones/devices cannot be accessed during the school day (except for very limited exceptions).
Please expect delays at entry as we adjust to this new procedure.
You can learn more about our cell phone procedures district-wide by reading this news story.
Chromebooks
All students are expected to bring their Chromebooks to school daily. Returning students are reminded to bring their Chromebooks with them for their first day on Sept. 5. Ninth grade and new students will receive Chromebooks at school if they did not pick them up on the Welcome Back Day.
Chromebooks can be stored in school lockers when not needed. Please fill out this Google Form if you would like to be assigned a locker. Lockers are provided by the academy offices on request.
Student drop-off and pick-up
Please use the upper Washington Avenue parking lot for student drop-off/pick-up. Do not double park on Washington Avenue.
Closed campus
Albany High is a closed campus; students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch or study hall.
Parents and guardians must submit a note in advance or contact their student’s academy office to excuse them for medical appointments, family emergencies, etc.
Students who leave campus without permission will not be allowed to re-enter without parent/guardian contact.
Outside food and/or drink delivery
Outside food and/or drink delivery is not permitted for any students. This includes third-party delivery services like DoorDash. Students violating this policy will not be allowed to enter with their food and will face disciplinary action per the Code of Conduct.
Student Parking
Parking lots are for Albany High staff only. Visitors and students must park on the street.
