'Tis the season for cookies

Group of students decorating sugar cookies

One of the most delightful parts of the holidays is sharing seasonal cookies with friends and loved ones!

Our Culinary II and Culinary III students have been hard at work this week baking and decorating over 750 cookies for the City of Albany Annual Holiday Tree Lighting, which will take place at Academy Park on Friday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.

Guided by Chef Lisa Valentine, our Falcons have crafted many seasonal favorites, including snickerdoodles, chocolate crinkles, gingersnaps, oatmeal cherry cookies, peppermint pinwheels and frosted sugar cookies.

Adding to the excitement, Chef Joan Dembinski, a local industry professional, volunteered her time and expertise to support our students in this challenging project.

Don't miss tomorrow's event, which will also feature live performances by the Albanettes and Troubadours, our most advanced choirs at Albany High!
