Planting joy at the holidays

DGS workers posing with presents

Students in Chrislene Adam's and JoAnnie Dickson's classes got a wonderful surprise of holiday gifts from City Gardener Jena DiTonno, Assistant City Gardener Sarah Cameron and their amazing gardening crew from the Department of General Services (DGS)!

Earlier this fall, our students collaborated with DGS to plant tulips in the formal gardens at Washington Park, as well as in our landscaping here at Albany High. Additionally, the students and DGS worked together to prepare our garden beds at Albany High for the upcoming planting season.

Inspired by our students' hard work and dedication, the entire department at DGS took up a gift collection for the students whose hard work will beautify our school and community come springtime.

Thank you to everyone at DGS for planting joy in our students' hearts this holiday season!
