Event focuses on men's role in student success

Panelists participate in a symposium that focuses on the importance of male participation and student success was held at Arbor Hill Elementary School.

Arbor Hill Elementary School proudly hosted its inaugural Fatherhood Initiative: Greatness in Men Symposium, in collaboration with Markeia Robinson - founder of Making of a Man - on Nov. 16.

The symposium aimed to empower our students' fathers, grandfathers, uncles, male role models and male guardians and provide them with strategies and tools to make a positive impact on the children they love.

AHES Student Council President, King, reminded the men of their greatness and the importance of their involvement and presence.

Our very own AHES dad, Terrence Chevannes, facilitated and moderated the panel discussion and our esteemed panelists, including:

• Kevin Johnson - Executive Director of the Palace Performing Arts Center

• Angelo Maddox Jr. - motivational speaker and owner of Fresh and Fly Inc.

• Aloysius McClinton - community activist and father

As a community school, we truly appreciate our attendees, guests, partners and sponsors for their unwavering support and contributions to the success of this collaborative event.
