Black History Month preparations underway

Black History Month art hanging in the halls at Albany School of Humanities.

As part of January’s Arts Enrichment programming, art teacher Amanda Mannato is working with students to color one part of a collaborative project that, when combined with their classmates’ work, will be made into a portrait of an influential African American.

On Tuesday Brianna O’Rourke’s class worked on Chance the Rapper, a philanthropist, public education advocate and recording artist. Henry Johnson, LeBron James and Beyonce' are already hanging outside of the art room - with many more inspiring portraits to come!
