Literacy unites school

A student is excited to read during ASH's One School One Book project.

Kindergarten was all smiles on Monday as emerging readers in Paula Staples’ class were handed their very own copies of I Am Every Good Thing.

It was the same scene in every grade throughout the building as we unveiled our latest One School, One Book to each and every student.

The Derrick Barnes book tells the story of a proud and confident Black narrator who has big plans and, even when he fails or is doubted, gets back up and proves his worth.
