Laila Edwards is the first African American woman to play on the USA women's hockey team. This week kindergarten and first grade proudly added a gold medal to their door following U.S.A.'s victory over Canada on Feb. 19.

Additionally, during parent-teacher conferences, parents and teachers enhanced the display by sharing one way that their child has worked hard like Laila.
