We celebrate Black History!

Tony Clement Center for Education welcomed families and dignitaries Wednesday evening to its Black History Celebration, which featured a Black Wall Street corridor of businesses and projects about Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Albany County District Attorney David Soares and Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins toured the exhibits with student guides, and both Soares and Hawkins, along with DJ TGIF, spoke to the group that gathered later for a meal.

The event also gave Interim Principal Jeffrey Ziegler a chance to thank outgoing Interim Principal Sal Villa for his service. Ziegler will serve as interim principal at Clement until the end of the school year. Linda Martin will continue in her role as interim principal through the end of the school as well.
