AFD visits EPES

A teacher practices a fire fighter crawl during a Fire Safety presentation.

It’s not every day that we get to dress like, and train with, actual fire fighters but that’s exactly what happened on Monday morning!

Nicholas Delbalso and Michael Delaney from the Albany Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) led a fire safety program for our students in kindergarten-grade 5 and staff.

We toured the fire truck, went over what to do during an emergency and, most importantly, learned that fire fighters in full uniform are not scary!

Let’s just say that if Molly Pettini ever wants a career outside of education (and we sure hope she doesn’t), fire fighting might be in her future – she does a great fire fighter crawl!
