Giffen goes cheesy for good cause

A Giffen Elementary student gives the thumbs-up sign after sampling macaroni and cheese for a fundraiser.

And the winner of Giffen Memorial Elementary School's first ever mac and cheese contest is…Dawn Castle!

The reading teacher submitted her version of the award winning dish, along with other staff members and parents, as part of a sixth-grade leadership team fundraiser.

Mac and cheese enthusiasts paid $1 for samples of all the submissions and then voted on their favorite. The event raised $111.50 for the sixth grade’s upcoming field trip to Boston.
