Giffen administrative change

The City School District of Albany Board of Education confirmed the following administrative change for Giffen Memorial Elementary School on Thursday night, part of district-wide staffing reductions caused by devastating anticipated reductions in state aid that could total as much as $23.2 million for the 2020-21 school year.

Assistant Principal William Flax-Leight will not return for the 2020-21 school year, effective Sept. 25. The position was eliminated in the district's reductions.
