A Day in the Life: Monica Waller-Brown and Kristen Skaarup’s fifth grade

Visit our district Facebook page to take a look at a typical day of in-person learning in Monica Waller-Brown and Kristen Skaarup’s co-teach fifth grade here at Giffen Memorial Elementary School.

Students spent Friday morning continuing their studies of Earth Day, which encompassed ELA, social studies, science and student advocacy. After a collective discussion of the history of Earth Day and its importance, students began drafting environmental slogans for posters that they plan to deliver to their Common Council member (who just happens to be Giffen Home School Coordinator Derek Johnson).
