Student coders are busy bees

Girl operates robotic bee

It’s National Coding Week, and fourth graders in Shannon Pinkowski’s class at Giffen Elementary School showed off their programming AND math skills on Friday using robots shaped like bees!

Students worked in teams to predict the distance between points on a path, then together they determined how to program the “Bee Bot” to travel to and reach each destination. At every stop, students solved a math problem before they and their Bee Bot moved on.
