Hackett shifts to distance learning due to COVID-19 impact

City School District of Albany logo

William S. Hackett Middle School will shift to distance learning for the rest of this week due to staffing shortages and classroom coverage challenges related to COVID-19.

Parents, guardians and students will be able to pick up Chromebooks and chargers at school Wednesday from 8-10 a.m. Meal pickup also will be available at school during those times Wednesday.

Teachers will begin live instruction via Google Classroom at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Your child’s teacher will have more information about the full instructional schedule for the rest of this week in their Google Classroom.

Please remember that your child should use their new district login credentials to access Google Classroom. You can contact your child’s teacher if you need help with that.

COVID-19 test kit pickup

Hackett families will be able to pick up COVID-19 test kits at school Wednesday through Friday in alignment with the distribution schedule communicated earlier this week.

Please use this link to report positive results to the Albany County Health Department. Please also call our school nurse to report any positive cases at (518) 475-6482.

Meal pickup also will be available at school for the rest of the week. Please watch for additional details about that.

Please also note that all modified athletic activities will continue on a regular schedule while students are in distance learning this week, including all practices and games.
