This week's Friday Fun Day theme is 'Hero vs. Villain Day!' We look forward to seeing fun t-shirts or character costumes representing heroes or villains!
ICYMI: It was 'Game On' last week here at Hackett. We were proud to recognize our student leaders with a ‘No Referral Celebration!’ There were games, crafts, activities and music - plus some much-deserved down tome for these hard-working kids who make a difference here at Hackett. Check out photos of the fun.
Fallen Chandelier Productions is holding Annie Jr. auditions tomorrow (March 25) from 3-8 p.m. here at Hackett. Please note this is not a school-sponsored event. The City School District of Albany is not responsible or liable for any problems or damages arising from participation in this activity.
Looking for a summer job? Applications are now open for the City of Albany's Summer Youth Employment Program. The pay is $16 an hour and you must be 14 by March 31.
As we look ahead, we prepare for a heavy dose of testing including the 2026 New York State Assessments, Regents and Spring NWEA, beginning in about three weeks. The assessment dates are listed below. The next few weeks provide us with no interruptions to the learning schedule prior to the start of assessments and will play a critical role in our ability to prepare our students for a long testing period. It is my hope that attendance will be high during this time, however, your child should bring a note following any absence and be sure to complete any missed work.
Our Extended Day Program takes place on Mondays through Thursdays from 3-5:30 p.m. and includes a free snack and free door-to-door bus transportation home. Applications are available at the Attendance Desk at the main entrance and should be returned to the Main Office. Please contact Ms. Lewis at dlewis2@albany.k12.ny.us if you have any questions.
As a reminder, please be mindful of school buses and school zone speed limits as both carry fines as much as $300 for stop-arm violations and $50 for speed violations. For more information on stop-arm cameras on First Student buses. To read more about school zone speed limits, check out our website.
