The City School District of Albany Board of Education has appointed Corie L. Hart-Nelson as a new assistant principal at William S. Hackett Middle School.
Hart-Nelson returns to Hackett, where she taught from 2014-23. After her departure, Hart-Nelson pursued administrative experience as an assistant principal at the Schenectady City School District’s Oneida Middle School and at the Saratoga City School District’s Maple Avenue Middle School.
She holds a bachelor’s in childhood and middle-level education and a master’s in literacy education from Russell Sage College.
She will replace Lisa House, who retired at the end of the recently completed school year, joining Principal Michael Paolino and Assistant Principal Lawrence Moultrie on Hackett’s administrative team. Hart-Nelson will begin in her new role on Aug. 11.
