Black artists celebrated at MMS

Students work to make a collage.

Montessori Magnet School is learning black history through art.

Educators with the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery spent the week of Feb. 10-14 at the school introducing students to notable African-American artists - past and present - and their work.

After the lesson, the young artists made their own creations, in the theme of the pieces that were introduced during the presentation.
