There won't be a printed newsletter this week but we did want to share what we've been up to here at MMS!
- On Tuesday, as part of our Black History Month celebrations, students visited with - and learned from - child author Harlow My'Elle.
- We welcomed Albany's first Black female mayor, Dorcey Appylrs, for a Q&A on Wednesday
- History came to life Thursday as grade 5 learned about the documentary North to New York, which focuses on Black Americans who moved to Albany to escape Jim Crow racism in the south
Don't forget to join us tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 27) for our annual Black History Month Movie! Hidden Figures starts in the gym at 6:30 p.m.
