Black History Month at MMS combines past, present and future

There won't be a printed newsletter this week but we did want to share what we've been up to here at MMS!

• On Tuesday, as part of our Black History Month celebrations, students visited with - and learned from - child author Harlow My'Elle.
• We welcomed Albany's first Black female mayor, Dorcey Appylrs, for a Q&A on Wednesday
•  History came to life Thursday as grade 5 learned about the documentary North to New York, which focuses on Black Americans who moved to Albany to escape Jim Crow racism in the south
