HVAC update

The following is an important message from Principal William Rivers:

I’m writing to update you on the HVAC issues our building has been experiencing this school year.

Hot air instead of cool air has been blowing in six of our classrooms. The City School District of Albany’s contractor was on-site Thursday and determined that faulty actuators were preventing the distribution of cold air.  The actuators were removed, new parts have been ordered and, following repairs, cool air is now flowing in two of the classrooms.

In the meantime, windows are allowed to be open in the still affected classrooms and some of the teachers have opted to use fans.

We are doing everything in our power to ensure the system is fixed as quickly as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience these HVAC problems are causing.  As always, if you have any additional questions, you can reach me at wrivers@albany.k12.ny.us or (518) 475-6425.
