The focus of Friday morning’s lesson was character perspective in Nic Stone’s “Dear Martin.” Students participated in a “reader’s theater” – which presents the story as a script that students can collectively read aloud. They then analyzed and discussed the perspectives of different characters in the young adult novel, which addresses issues of racial profiling.
