The Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School leadership team, in collaboration with the PTSA, have an important announcement to make regarding your child’s 8th grade Moving Up Ceremony.

Rather than providing a staggered ceremony, we will host a semi-formal event on the lacrosse field

Updates

  • Friday, June 24
  • Students should arrive no later than 8:20 a.m. Guests should arrive between 8- 9 a.m.
  • The ceremony will run from 9-11 a.m.
  • Families should bring their own seating (chairs, blanket, etc.). Please sit in designated spots on the lacrosse field.
  • Minimal parking will be available. If you are able to utilize the CDTA, please do so, as the bus stop is immediately next to the lacrosse field. Once our parking lot is full, our entrance will be closed and you will be required to park on the street.

Considerations

  •  aware that large balloons may inhibit the audience’s ability to see their child. Please be considerate of our families and friends.
  • When your child’s name is called, there will be designated locations to take your child’s photo. Please use this space efficiently so the next scholar can be photographed by their family.
  • Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, and its associated school grounds, are tobacco, inhalant and alcohol free. Please plan accordingly.

Grade 8 Dance

  • It is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. Please feel free to dress to impress or come casual. Just be sure to follow the dress code in the Code of Conduct.
  • In order to participate in the Grade 8 Dance and Moving Up Ceremony, scholars must have passed three out of four core classes for the 2021-22 academic school year. Students will not be permitted to attend the Grade 8 Dance if they received a discipline referral June 1 - June 23.

Students are required to return their Chromebook June20-23 in order to participate in the dance and Moving Up Ceremony.
