'Entering the College Zone' returns for students in grades 6-12

An Albany High School student poses after receiving his diploma at graduation

After a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the City School District of Albany is excited to partner once again with the Albany chapter of the Black Child Development Institute (BCDI) to offer students in grades 6-12 and their parents and guardians an opportunity to attend "Entering the College Zone: Transformation through Collaboration."

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 20 from 9-3 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College. Students can register through Friday, May 5.

You can download a letter for families from BCDI Program Coordinators Barry Walston and Larry Mauldin, as well as application materials for students. The district also will provide free bus transportation for students and families to and from the event; the bus schedule for May 20 also is included in the linked materials.

Entering the College Zone is free and open to all middle school and high school students. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact your principal, guidance counselor or home school coordinator.
