The City School District of Albany Board of Education is pleased to welcome back veteran administrator Suzann Cornell as an assistant principal at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School.

Cornell joins the current Myers administration team of Principal William Rivers and assistant principals Amelia Gallagher and Michael Teator.

Cornell returns to the district from Wynantskill Union Free School District, where she worked as a principal since 2020.

She started with the district in 1998 as a teacher at Pine Hills Elementary School. In 2013, she became a district-wide instructional coach - a position she held until she was appointed as an assistant academy principal at Albany High School in 2016 - and, then, academy principal in 2017.

She started serving as an administrator on special assignment in 2019, working with the district’s two receivership elementary schools and then moved to William S. Hackett Middle School, where she was an assistant principal.

Cornell replaces Brianna Olsen, who was promoted to assistant principal at Myers in 2019 after seven years in the district as a Behavior Management Specialist. Her last day is Thursday. We wish her luck in her new role in the Voorheesville School District and appreciate the work she has done over the years on behalf of our students, as well as assisting Cornell with the transition.
