Hello, Junior Falcons!

News

  • Last week, we rolled out the Erin's Law curriculum (New York State’s law, Chapter 187 of the Laws of 2019) that requires public schools to teach child sexual abuse and exploitation prevention classes to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Please be reminded that the Erin's Law curriculum will only be shared with students in the seventh grade. As some of the content can be very strong and personally related, we have class facilitators as well as additional social workers available to meet with any struggling students. Students needing to speak with someone may also be referred to the Full-Service Office.
  • Volunteers and donations (food/silent auction items) are needed for the Myers Mixer on March 23. Please sign up and support the PTSA!
  • The district is partnering with the Black Child Development Institute to offer students in grades 6-12, and their parents and guardians, an opportunity to attend the free Entering the College Zone Student Conference on April 27 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College.
  • Registration for spring modified (grades 7-8) sports is underway! The district offers track and field, lacrosse, boys' tennis, softball and baseball. You must sign up via FinalForms and please note that the district will not be opening up girls’ flag football to grades 7-8 (through the Advanced Placement Process) unless a 9-12 grade team can’t be fielded. Practices/tryouts begin on March 25. Let's go Falcons!
  • SAVE THE DATE! The 2024 Autism Spectrum Fair is scheduled for March 26 (5:30 p.m.) at Montessori Magnet School. The event is free, open to all and transportation is provided.
  • The Vegetable Project, a program that supports hands-on learning involving science and nature here at Myers and other district schools, is running a seed fundraiser through March 29.
  • Registration is now open for New York State's Summer School of the Arts. Students in grades 8-12 are encouraged to apply for the free progam. The deadline to apply are for visual arts and media arts is March 15.
