BHM assignment challenges students to share, critique and learn

A student displays her Black History Month project.

Grade 7 students were asked to act like historians and think like scholars on Tuesday.

A cross-curricular ELA and social studies project tasked students with creating research projects – including visual representation – about influential Black men and women throughout history.

The classes then participated in a gallery walk and spoke with peers about their displays while also noting observations and discoveries.

Thank you to Justin Mullen and Madison Lander for leading this educational, hands-on and fun Black History Month project.
