Welcoming our new superintendent

Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter seated at a conference table, speaking into a microphone

During Thursday’s Board of Education meeting, Joseph Hochreiter was officially named the next superintendent of our district, with the board approving a three-year contract beginning June 1.

Along with welcoming Hochreiter, the meeting – held in Albany High’s beautiful new library – gave the board and community an opportunity to thank outgoing interim superintendent John Yagielski for his dedication and leadership during his time with our district.

During the meeting, the board also recognized Albany High’s JROTC cadets, who recently won 11 trophies – nine of them for first place – during competition at Fort Dix, N.J. They advanced to the national competition in Kentucky next fall.
