Precautionary distance learning preparations

The City School District of Albany will send in-person students home with academic materials Tuesday and Wednesday as a precautionary step to prepare for a transition to distance learning for all students if COVID-19 spikes during the holiday break.

At this time, the district is planning to return to the regular in-person and remote schedules at all buildings when we return from the break on Monday, Jan. 4. This week’s preparations are only to make sure all students have the materials needed if a transition to a full remote environment becomes necessary to start the new year.

All district schools will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 24 until reopening Monday, Jan. 4. District offices will be open Monday, Dec. 28 through Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Please enjoy a happy, health and safe holiday season, and continue to follow all COVID-19 precautions, including social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands frequently.
