Students returning to school Thursday, Friday

Important back-to-school information

The following message is from New Scotland Elementary Principal Lesley Buff:

We are excited to welcome students back to school starting on Thursday (tomorrow) and Friday!

SCHEDULE

  • Thursday
    • Prekindergarten and kindergarten orientation, students whose last name starts with the letters A-L, 10-11 a.m.
    • Grades 1-2, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (no school for grades 3-5 and Mrs. Clancy’s class)
  • Friday
    • Prekindergarten and kindergarten orientation, students whose last name starts with the letters M-Z, 10-11 a.m.
    • Grades 3-5 and all students in Mrs. Clancy’s class, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (no school for grades 1-2)

DROP-OFF AND PICKUP

Please make every effort to assure that your child arrives on time! Drop-off will between 8:50-9 a.m. Students will enter the building at 9 a.m. To ensure student and staff safety, parents of students in grades 1-5 will not be allowed in the building at this time.

  • Students in prekindergarten-grade 2 will enter through the main entrance.
  • Students in grades 3-5 will enter through the side door on Parkwood Street

BUSES

  • Prekindergarten – There is no bus transportation.
  • Eligible kindergarten-grade 5 and special education students – You should have received a bus schedule with bus stop information and times. If you did not, please contact the school district’s Transportation Department at (518) 475-6170. Bus students will enter through the doors on Glenwood Street. All students riding a bus must wear a face mask.

Please remember that your child must wear a mask in school each day. Also, staff will take your child’s temperature every day as they arrive at school.
